The James Bond Omega Watch
It was the Omega Seamaster Professional Diver watch that was worn by Pierce Brosnan in four James Bond Films. The Seamaster watch that was worn was a stainless steel full size watch with a blue face and a blue bezel on a stainless steel bracelet.
Dealers who sell these Omega watches usually use the ‘James Bond’ nickname to any of the skeleton hand Seamaster models. At the moment, only the model 2531.80, which is the automatic and the 2541.80 watches have been used. (This is the quartz watch)
In some of the earlier films, you will find James Bond wearing a Rolex Submariner and Seiko. Occasionally you will see an Omega Seamaster in the early films.
In 1995, Golden Eye was released. James Bond used an Omega Seamaster with a laser emitting and a button to trigger explosives. In 1997, James Bond had another Omega Seamaster that had a detonator in the watch. In 1999’s film, World Is Not Enough, James Bond had a dual laser and a grappling hook in his Omega Seamaster. Then in Goldeneye, which was released in 1999, James Bond and Natalya were trapped inside a train and were surrounded by armor plating. Bond activated a laser from his watch and cut a giant hole into the floor of the train just seconds before it exploded. Also in the film, Bond had some magnetic mines that were activated. Luckily his watch was able to disengage the mines.
In the film, Tomorrow Never Dies, James Bond is given a new version of the Omega watch loaded with extra goodies. Bond uses a detachable remote control, which detonates a grenade and explodes.
The film The World Is Not Enough, Bond uses his Omega to illuminate the inside of an inflated bubble ski jacket while him and Elektra are stuck in the middle of an avalanche. Later in the film, Bond is stuck in a nuclear bunker and fires the piton wire so he can jump fifty feet.
The Omega Seamaster with the blue face and bezel was modified to shoot a high power laser that was capable of cutting through steel. This was the same watch that detonated the magnetic mines that were mentioned earlier.
At the late end of 2002, Omega released a special edition 007 Seamaster Professional watch for the 40th anniversary of James Bond. The watches were limited to 10,007 pieces worldwide.
